Name:Kiba
Gender:Male
Race: Shinigami
Theme Song:
Physical Description:
Kiba is a tall man standing at the 6'2" mark and lean but muscular. He has extremely light blonde hair and keeps it in what could only be called a messy spike(think of a shorter version of clouds from FF7). He has deep green eyes and usually keeps a clam expression outside of combat that hides his borderline psychotic mind. He wears the standard Shinigami outfit but with a green rope that loops over his right shoulder and holds his zanpakuto in place when not in use.
Personality:
Kiba's true personality can sometimes catch people off guard. Outside of combat he seems like a cool level headed person, analytical and patient. Only in combat does his true personality show it's self. He is extremely vicious and violent, and pays no heed to personal danger or injury. Believing that only death truly ends a fight, he will fight an opponent until one or the other is dead. He also enjoys fighting more then any other pass time in Soul Society, so much so that whenever he fights he always wears an insane grin and laughs continuously. Because he believes that fighting should only be done by two men one on one with nothing but their weapons, he looks down on anyone who attacks in groups and those who use things like Kidou. Despite this he still looks after his comrades, never leaving one behind but also never gets in the way of one of their fights.
History:
Kiba and his brother Jansen were born during the early 1700's in England. They were orphans and never knew who their parents were. Kiba was the older and more level headed of the two and tried to look after his younger brother who was a hothead and always managed to get into fights with random people for vague reasons.
They grew up in a poor orphanage filled with other kids who never knew their parents. To survive they picked up the art of pickpocket and became very good at it, usually having one brother distract the person of interest while the other took their wallet. They also used this tactic to steal from stores. This skill made them popular at the orphanage because they often shared their spoils with the rest of the kids. When Kiba was ten and Jansen nine, the manager of the orphanage caught them stealing and threw them out onto the streets.
It wasn't long after this that they joined a street gang and began to make their living off the makings of others. The leader of the gang taught them the finer points of theft and they began to make off with bigger and bigger thefts, once even able to steal the wallet of a lord while he was surrounded by guards. They seemed to have unlimited luck as they almost never got caught and when they did they would easily get away.
About five years after being thrown onto the streets, Kiba and Jansen ran across an old man dressed in rags and walking with the assistance of a cane. Thinking that since his life was almost at an end they would relive him of his possessions, Jansen began to distract him by asking him directions to an inn. Everything seemed to be going as planed until had the old mans wallet in hand. Suddenly the old man seemed less old as he grabbed Kiba's arm and hit him three times with his cane in three quick thrusts. Jansen pulled out his knife and tried to come to his brothers defense, but was quickly disarmed and felled by the old man.
When they both came too, they found themselves inside the old mans house. He had apparently brought them there after knocking both of them out and had taken care of them, despite what they had done. They began to live with the old man, forsaking their past life and living honestly for once. After about a month of this their old gang came looking for them and came to the old mans house with clubs looking to beat the two to death for leaving them. Jansen ran outside with a club of his own and quickly got into a fight and seeing that his brother was in trouble, Kiba ran out to help him. Because the odds of the fight were ten to two, Kiba and Jansen quickly became overwhelmed and most likely would have died there if not for the booming voice that came from the door of the old mans house.
"That will be enough!" The old man stood there, straight and tall with out a cane. In place of the cane he now held a saber and held it in a way that let others know he could use it. "The ten of you can leave now" he said, leveling the point of his sword at the gang "If not, then I will send you away with a few missing parts." Most of the gang member lost their nerve at that point and ran away, while the few left saw there was no point in staying and walked away mumbling to themselves.
After everyone was back inside, the old man sat Kiba and Jansen down to talk with them. "You two have a good amount of spirit in you, It's been a long time since I've seen it." Walking over to a chair and sitting down the old man continued, "Once, long ago, I was an excellent swordsman, though age has dulled my reflexes. I've been looking for some young lads to pass my knowledge onto. How would the two of you like to train under me?"
Both boys were overjoyed to accept, and it was at that point that they both began to learn to be master swordsman instead of master thief's.
Kiba and Jansen trained under the old man for five years, learning everything he could possibly tell them. But then the old man became sick. The doctor came but there was nothing he could do, the old mans time had come. Before passing away the old man called Kiba and Jansen to his bed side to give them his final lesson. "The two of you are my students, therefore you must never use the skills I taught you to hurt the innocent. You must use them to protect the weak." With these final word the old man breathed his last.
It was at this point in their life that Kiba and Jansen became what they referred to as "Protectors of Justice." They wandered around, helping anyone they found in need and stopping those who were taking advantage of the weak. Still their luck seemed limitless. They could get out of any situation without serious injury, sometimes without even a scratch. They began to think of themselves as invincible and began to take sometimes extremely reckless action.
One night while staying in a town, Jansen went out by himself. He came across a group of fifteen bandits who were trying to force themselves onto a couple women. Jansen became enraged by the sight and decided to do something about it himself. Unfortunately this was the night when Jan sons luck decided to run out. Kaim heard the screams and ran outside to see what it was about. The scene he saw would change his life forever. His brothers body was laying the middle of the street while his head was farther down. Kiba walked over and picked up his brothers head and just sat there staring into the eyes. After a long moment something inside him snapped. All of his cool level thoughts left him and only one thought remained. Find the ones who did this and kill them. But just stabbing them with a simple saber would mean nothing, he needed something bigger. Kiba went to the blacksmith and kicked the door in, much to the dismay of the blacksmith. Kiba managed to silence him by leaving his head pinned to the wall by Kiba's saber. Kiba hefted a large claymore before turning around and walking out.
Kiba quickly followed the trail of the bandits and found them on the road a short way out of town. Circling around and getting ahead of them, he climbed a tree over looking the road. As they passed under he dropped right in the middle of them and had half of them down before they could do anything. The rest fell back and drew their swords while one lit a lamp. What the light allowed them to see made them all draw back. Kiba stood there in front of them, head tilted to the side, eyes glowing red in the light, and an insane grin on his face. Even in town they could hear the screams as the men died.
After that, Kiba's personality changed. He no longer fought for the weak. Instead he traveled around, looking for strong men to fight, hoping to follow his brother into death. He no longer used a saber but had a large broad sword made for himself, though the strength of insanity allowed him to use it almost like a saber in combat. After many years he ended up in Japan, hoping to fight some of the swordsman he had heard about. It wasn't long before he ended up in a village and began to hear story's about the most proficient swordsman that had ever been born in that village. After about a day of searching, Kiba finally found the man walking through the streets. With out hesitation, Kiba stalked toward the man, drawing his sword from his back and grinning with insane joy. THIS is what he had been waiting for, a chance to fight a real man and then die by his hands. The Japanese man saw Kiba approaching and barely had enough time to draw his sword and bring it up in a block. The mans stance was perfect, and his movements so fluid. The very sight of it sent shivers of anticipation through Kiba's body. On his trip to japan, Kiba had learned a few words of the Japanese language, enough at any rate for him to issue a challenge. "I wish to fight you and perhaps finish my quest to die in combat. Will you help me with this?" The man stared at him for a long moment before nodding, acknowledging Kiba's quest and relenting to help him.
The fight lasted for close to fifteen minutes, and it was the most joyful moment of Kiba's life. His opponent was so fluid and strong. He was able to knock Kiba's heavy blows aside and remain standing without so much as a stumble. Many of the village people began to gather around, awed at the sight of these two spectacular swordsman fighting. Finally, the end of the fight came. The man deftly deflected Kiba's blow and ran his katana into Kiba's chest. Kiba coughed up blood and began to fall back, but was caught by the man and gently lowered to the ground. Even into death , Kiba continued to smile and the last thing he saw was the man who killed him bowing his head in respect.
When Kiba awoke and looked around, his first thought was that he had somehow managed to escape death. He seemed to be in the same town with the same people. On a second look, he realized that that wasn't true. This was a different town with different people. He became confused and grabbed a passing man to question him. "Hey you, were the hell am I? I thought I was dead, so why am I here?" The man simply smiled at him and told him everything. "Oh you're dead alright. What you see here is called Soul Society, it's were all the dead souls come to live." The man began to tell him everything he knew about Soul Society and Kiba listened intently. He learned about the distracts and the people. But most intriguing of all he learned of the Shinigami. The god's of this world who protected it and destroyed those who threatened the peace of the Real World.
For a while Kiba lived in peace. He traveled from distract to distract and helped people who need it. Kiba built houses, cooked food, patched roads, and did anything that needed to be done, gaining back some of his sanity in the process. But no matter how far he ran he could never escape the blood lust that welled within him.
One night he had a dream while he slept. He dreamed that he was standing in a field. Before him sat a giant wolf. It had a scar then ran across its right eye, both which gleamed red in the moonlight. It's black fur rustled in the wind. It began to talk to him, slow harsh words which Kiba found he could hear with perfect clarity. "Pick up your sword Kiba" it said to him, baring its teeth with each word, "Fight Kiba, show your strength by defeating the strong." Kiba's blood began to boil and he awoke. Looking around he saw a large sword sitting next to him. Taking it in his hand he felt the grin spread across his face. It was time to fight once again.
He once again started his wandering, finding those who were strong and fighting them. He found it hard to find opponents who could fight him on equal footing and began to use one hand to fight so that his enemy would stand half a chance. One day a Shinigami came looking for him, having heard of him beating everyone he came across no matter who stood in his way. The Shinigami found him and approached him in hopes of talking to him, but instead came face to face with a rather large point of a sword.
"Oh, do you happen to be one of those fabled Shinigami?" Kiba said while grinning at the man before him, "I've always wanted to try my hand at one of you"
The Shinigami raised his hands up in protest, "Hold up there friend, I just came to talk to you. There's really no need for us to get violent is there?" After a moment, Kiba lowered his sword, "Much better. Now, I have a proposition for you that I think you will like." He began to explain to Kiba about Shinigami and that the large weapon he carried was called a zanpakuto. Kiba listen to him intently, becoming more and more intrigued by the thought of being one of these Shinigami. When the man finally asked him to join the academy, Kiba agreed and began his journey in becoming a Shinigami.
Kiba wasn't the sociable type and didn't make to many friends while at the academy. He did learn to respect a few of the other students because of their ability's and if he was seen spending time with anyone, it was one of those few people. He had poor grades in kidou because he refused to learn more then was necessary to pass and his kendo grades were average because he never fought in the proper stance, though he usually won his matches through his overbearing size and strength. Though he graduated from the academy with average grades, all of his class mates knew he was still a powerful opponent. He graduated from the academy and joined one of the squads, finally finding all the fighting that he could want.

Zanpakutoh Name: Gosaiboushi
Zanpakutoh Description (Sealed): It is a full time release zanpakuto, though in it's original form it was a large silver sword.
Shikai Release Phrase: A full time release does not require a release phrase.
Shikai Description: The zanpakuto is completely silver except for the design on the blade which is black and has four small red jewels on the blade and one large red jewel on the hilt. As Kiba fights the Jewel glows brighter the harder the fight is and also causes Kiba's eye's to glow red with the same intensity as the jewel. It also stands at about 5'10" and is worn across the back and held up by a green rope which Kiba wears looped around his right shoulder. Despite the size it seems to have almost no weight to Kiba and can be swung with only one hand and with surprising speed. The only ability that Kiba gains from this is the ability to cause shock waves with his swings. Each wave is effected by the force of the swing making the most powerful wave's only possible when he swings with both hands.
Bankai Release Phrase:Spill their blood and grind their bones
Bankai Description: Kiba's zanpakuto splits into two smaller versions of his Shikai about half his height. Both blades turn black and seem to cry out for blood the whole time. While in this form Kiba's aggression in combat drastically raises. Animal instincts take over and his speed and power raises. At the height of his blood frenzy he even loses the ability to block and dodge attacks, instead he takes every attack head on and shrugs it off until either him or his opponent is dead.
