(Also pretty much done except for a few small things)
Name: Chu Jiang ("Chuji")
Gender: female
Alliance: Squad Zero
Rank: Jin's Right Hand Man
Note: During the days, she spends her time at the town's high school, keeping tabs on the few human members of the squad that happen to attend the school, defending the general area from Hollow as well. At night, she helps the rest of her crew to the best of her ability, Jin having limited how many hours she can do so unless extenuating circumstances surface.
Physical Description: The young Chinese girl has short red hair so dark it is nearly black. She keeps it tied back in two small ponytails, a few stray hairs falling between her green eyes. Chu is average height, approximately5'5". Since she spends most of her time out of school at her Commander's dojo or in town kicking Hollow ass and chewing bubblegum, Chu is most often in her uniform. This consists of a black martial arts gi, the right arm of which is a deep green to show her rank within the rogue squad (The standard uniform solid green with a black sash, though it is not required for members of the Squad to wear one). The gi top is held closed with a green sash that is tied in the back. Her sheathed machete hangs from a gold-coloured chain attached to the sash.
Personality: Jiang, or Chuji as she is referred to by close friends, is a hard worker and skilled multitasker. She cares for every member of her small "squad" and will quickly rush to aid them, whether it be with Hollow, homework, or other things all together. This often leads to her not having nearly enough time to herself, but like her Boss, she feels the welfare of her subordinates to come first.
History: Chu's living life was not the nicest. She was born to an impoverished family in a Chinese village during a time of off and on warring. They did whatever they could to help supplement their income and this often meant sending their only daughter out to pickpocket and steal from the other villagers. Oftentimes, she would dress as a boy to avoid Bad Things that could happen while wandering around alone, while other times she would play the part of the poor little girl and guilt money out of better off folk with her misfortune.
She managed to help minimize her family's suffering this way, though it was still not enough. There were still nights where they had to go hungry, and one or more of her family members were usually ill at a time. Soon, it all took its toll. Jiang became rather ill one summer, the combination of hunger and physical exhaustion doing nothing to help her regain her health. Even during this, she did her best to help support her family. In the end, it was the illness that did her in, not the dangerous life of a pickpocket.
Jiang ended up in a district close to Seireitei, and like alot of others, ended up becoming rather interested in the Shinigami. She spent some time content with how her current life was, but eventually her natural need to help others got the best of her and she made it her goal to get into the academy and become a Shinigami.
It took a few attempts, but eventually she made it into the academy. While there, she showed a decent enough skill with a sword, though her true talents turned out to be concealing herself and making short work of opponents with sneak attacks. Because of this, when she finally graduated she was placed within the ranks of Squad 2, quickly earning a reputation for her reliability and efficiency.
However, she still endured hardships. For some reason, she was singled out as a target of harassment by some of the other Shinigami. At first it was nothing major, just a bit of teasing, but it slowly grew worse. When she had gained Shikai and become a Seated Officer, the reason had surfaced. Turns out, some Shinigami were unhappy sharing their job place with a woman of Chinese heritage. There were times she tried going to higher ranking Shinigami, but no one believed her. This didn't sit well with her harassers. The threats and harassment increased immensely.
Shortly after she became Vice Captain of Squad 2, the harassers went too far. One night while Jiang was returning to her headquarters after a small mission to the real world, she was jumped by the Captain of Squad 8 and a few Seated Officers from various squads. She tried to talk her way away from them, saying she had important business to attend to but they would not let her leave. Two of the Seated Officers grabbed hold of her and tried to force her to the ground, but Jiang struggled to get away. Soon, it was a full-on brawl, the lone Chinese woman fighting fiercely to keep her attackers from taking advantage of her.
She showed no mercy. Jiang was sick of them tormenting her nearly every day, and though it was in self-defense, she still enjoyed putting her blades to their bodies. She managed to kill one of the Seated Officers and severely wound the Captain before her own Captain and some Seated Officers from her squad showed up and ended the fight.
"What the hell is this!?" Tahoshi fumed, firmly holding her arms behind her back while the Seated Officers dealt with each other.
"They've been harassing me for years!" she growled "And tonight they went too far so I finally started fighting back! I wasn't going to let these pigs rape me. It's their punishment!"
A few more minutes and medics had arrived, tending to the fallen Captain.
"And you didn't tell anyone?"
"I did. And no one believed me. Then they got worse. What was I supposed to do?"
She was locked up that night for the murder of a Seated Officer and Captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads.
This left Jiang raging. The first chance she got, she broke free and rushed her way to the real world, using her skill at hiding her reiatsu to keep herself undetected by the few Shinigami that were sent after her. Eventually, they gave up on finding her, but Jiang still had to deal with the fact that she now had nowhere to go. Then, an idea came to her. She remembered hearing rumours of a white-haired woman in the real world that saved Shinigami that were in over their heads. The very thought gave her hope and she began her search for the evasive soul.
After a few weeks wandering, Chu was getting extremely worn out. Leaning against a wall, she lowered her head, taking a few steady breaths. And then... footsteps.
"Oi. What are you doing here, Reaper?" the person asked. Startled, Jiang raised her head, unable to suppress a joyful grin as she looked upon the tall woman that had approached her.
"Aah... You wouldn't happen to be Song, would you?" she asked, tapping her fingers in front of her.
The woman narrowed her eyes warily. "I am. What buisness do you have with me?"
"I want to join you..."
Song then asked for an explanation, which Jiang willingly provided. After she finished, she watched Song intently, heart beating with excitement. She hoped with all her might that this woman would take her in, give her a place to continue doing what she did best - helping others... And she got her wish. With barely a hint of hesitance, the white-haired soul agreed to let her join up with her band of Seireitei's undesirables. That night, she gave up her Shinigami robes for good, though she still kept them, the black garment folded away in her room.
With renewed vigour, Jiang accepted her role within the squad, which at first consisted mainly of grunt work around Jin's dojo and proving her loyalty to the rest of the group. Soon, she was raising within the loose hierarchy of the rogues, eventually getting to the point where she was gifted with the honour of being Jin's right-hand man.
She hasn't once regretted what she did on that night in Seireitei, feeling that her life is being put to much better use helping those that the rest of Seireitei had given up on.
