((I might still tweak some things, but I figure this is basically it))
Name: Song Jin
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Alliance: Squad Zero
Rank: Commander of Squad Zero (aka Anima Bravo), referred to as Boss by most of her subordinates.
Physical Description: Jin is a rather lithe woman, easily reaching 5'8" tall, rather odd for a woman of Chinese heritage. A sheet of pin-straight white hair frames her pale face, hanging just past her waist. She always keeps her hair neatly trimmed, bangs evenly cut just above her golden eyes. Her average chest is wrapped with a durable black linen strip, the same material twining around most of her arms (3/4ths from the wrist) and legs (around the soles of her feet and up to just below her knees). Most of the time she opts to wear no shoes, but when she does it is usually a simple pair of black flip-flops. She keeps the top of her sleeveless black gi open, a somewhat spectral looking green and white tiger embroidered on the back. Tied securely to the left side of her forehead via another strip of the same black linen cloth is a bit of Hollow mask sporting a large broken horn, the rough edges curving around her eye and extending down her jawline to just below her ear.
Personality: Jin is a somewhat cocky woman, knowing very well she can fight on-par with the beloved and revered Captains of Seireitei with little problem, and she's not afraid to flaunt it. Though, most of the time, she prefers to take it easy and is often found lounging somewhere around her dojo-like headquarters. Jin rarely gets riled up, but when she does she exhibits a kind of passion rarely seen. She is also nearly impossible to startle, this only adding to her air of utter confidence. She is extremely independent and rarely asks for help, and even then there are only a few people with which she would trust that honour.
History: Jin barely remembers her childhood, her first memories were of being alone, traveling from town to town to fend for herself. Unlike most street kids, however, Jin earned every meal she ate. She did this by performing acrobatics, something the girl was rather talented at. Occasionally she would be sought out to perform for a noble, but her name went mostly unrecognized. She lived a rather decent life this way, until it came to a sudden end. Another jealous street dweller mugged and accidentally stabbed her in a back alley one night after she finished a performance, the wound from the dirty knife proving to be fatal.
Soon, she was in Rukongai district 3. It was leagues better than how she had been living before, so instead of performing to keep herself alive, it became much more of a hobby, a way to pass the immense amount of free time she now had. Eventually, she started making friends with the other souls that had ended up in the district, becoming rather close friends with one Hirako Tahoshi. The two would spend time watching the Shinigami and talking.
Then, he earned his way into the Academy by dropping a rogue Shinigami in one blow. Very much disliking being separated from him, she quickly tried to get into the Academy as well, but was turned away. Unable to stand being alone once more, she slowly grew more irate and bitter about the situation. Why had they denied her? She was just as strong as Tahoshi had been! Eventually, it became too much and she vented her anger in a fight with a Shinigami. She quickly won the battle, shattering the poor soul's zanpakutoh as he used it to desperately block her unarmed attacks.
This incident was not looked well upon by the higher ranking shinigami, and it was decided that she would be punished. Not one to take that, Jin broke free and tried desperately to evade capture, slowly making her way out of the walled city of Shinigami. Now more alone than ever, she realized the error of what she had done. No shelter, constant danger... There was a high chance she would die wandering around out there. But she was determined. She would show them that she was more than capable of being a shinigami. They'd be begging her to come back.
Having long since lost her sense of direction and time, Jin was startled from her mindless wandering by the appearance of another person. She was extremely wary at first, almost confrontational, but was slowly talked down by the other woman. They spent some time talking, the mysterious woman coaxing Jin's reason for abandoning Seireitei out of her. Intrigued, the stranger offered to help Jin out, taking her to the human world as well as providing her with a Gigai. Before leaving the addled Jin, the stranger grinned and said one last thing. "I hope you know you owe me now... You will not know when, but I will come for you." She then disappeared into the darkness.
With her determination and will to prove herself re-lit, Jin set about exploring her new home. At first she had nowhere to stay, once again having to endure life on the streets. Days were hard, but nights were harder, as she soon found herself fending off Hollow. Her skills in acrobatics were of great aid, allowing her to avoid attacks and quickly retaliate. After a few years of doing this, she made her first impression. Hearing a commotion, she rushed to the scene, only to find a young Shinigami fighting off a rather large Hollow. At first, she was just going to let the Hollow kill the boy, but then, she had an idea. Rushing over with a wild grin, she uppercut the Hollow just as it was about to chomp down on the disarmed Shinigami. He stared on in awe as she finished it off and then turned to him. "You're safe today, kid. Lucky I was here or you'd be Hollow chow." And with that, she walked off, letting the stunned Shinigami return to Seireitei where he told his fellows about the Chinese woman that had saved his tail.
This continued, Jin eventually setting up shop in an old Martial Arts dojo which she ran during the day, and protected the town alongside a dwindling number of shinigami by night. Not one recognized her for the criminal she was, though. Over time, some souls that had been denied the academy just like her showed up at her doorstep, and she took them in, protecting them and training some to help defend the town as well.
One night, she happened upon something rather interesting; a worn-out looking Shinigami woman sporting the marks of a Vice Captain. Seeing no Hollow that would require someone like this to be sent to the real world or any signs of damage that could have been caused by one left Jin somewhat confused. With little regard to safety, she approached the Shinigami. "Oi. What're you doing here, Reaper?" she asked. The Shinigami seemed startled, though in a rather good way. "Aah... You wouldn't happen to be Song, would you" she asked, tapping her fingers in front of her.
Jin narrowed her eyes warily. "I am. What buisness do you have with me?"
"I want to join you..."
Shocked, Jin asked for some sort of explanation, receiving a tale of ill treatment at the hands of Seireitei from the Vice Captain. Jin agreed to let the Shinigami join up with her slowly growing "squad", but not without a warning that basically amounted to "You give us up and you're dead".
Currently, she knows nothing of the happenings within Seireitei, but has been rather perplexed at the rapidly fluctuating amount of Hollow plaguing her city. She is curious as to the cause but has so far made no efforts to research it, preferring to focus on the welfare of the city that she calls home.
Skills:
Melee (Hand to hand(kicks)) 73
Kidou 1
Shunpo 15
Reiatsu 82
Block 43
Sense Reiatsu 55
Hide Reiatsu 1
HP: 104
Because she was never a Shinigami, Jin lacks a Zanpakutoh and Kidou. Instead, she fights with raw power. Reiatsu-fueled martial arts and a heartiness that can only be gained by fending for oneself make her exceptionally fearsome in battle. Her fighting style focuses mainly on powerful kicks and twisting blocks. Her graceful, fluid movements are almost distracting
