Tahoshi didn't need telling twice. The moment he heard Razgriz cry for help, he leapt back into the fray. His wings beat hard, and sent him catapulting into the Vasto Lorde, pulling it away from Razgriz, who was beginning to feel the power of the Hollow.
The two slid along the road, Tahoshi's claws tearing at the Hollow as fast as he could, but the armor, and his own defenses stopped him from getting anywhere near his mask. As they fought, Tahoshi built up his Reiatsu, everyone around saw it as a growing fireball of fighting.
"Eat THIS!" Tahoshi shouted as they neared the end of their slide, and fired his whole Reiatsu into a fireball, directly down into the hollow. A Scream of pain arced through the air, as Tahoshi was thrown backwards by the force of his own attack, the flames of Tiamat turned to smoke and ash before he hit the ground. His Zanpakutoh returned to its normal form, except for the missing blade. The hilt of a European broadsword lay on the floor next to him, as he fell into unconciousness.
As for the Hollow, now missing an arm, and half a leg, the Vasto Lorde stood back on its remaining leg, using Reiatsu to hold itself up.
"I'm still not finished yet!" it Roared, increasing the pressure of the air several times over, causing the lower powered Seated Officers to almost choke. The only ones that stood fast were the now battle-ready (ish) Yuudai, Juno and Razgriz, whose armour virtually nailed him to the ground.

Juno was amazed to see the Hollow still standing. She was positive that that attack would have finished it off. The Shinigami were quickly running out of options and were soon confronted with a large increase of Reiatsu coming from the Hollow. After the initial shock had worn off, Juno took action, aiming to end this in one blow. If she failed, then they would most likely all end up eaten.
"Limit release." She said in her oh so familiar tone of voice, whilst brandishing the seal on the back of her left hand. The instant that all in the immediate area felt her energy peak, she was gone. No one present, not even the powerful Hollow that was giving them such a hard time, could keep track of the woman's movements. Before any movement could register, both of Juno's blades were embedded deep into the Vasto Lorde's mask. It made desperate attempts to get her off, but it was nigh impossible with one and a half missing limbs.
One sword moved up, the other down; and in that single, fluid movement...the mask was sliced in two. The halves fell to the ground and the creature cried out in agony as it began to disappear. Before it was fully gone, Juno was on her knees, her Zanpakutoh back in it's sealed state and on the ground before her. Blood was still oozing into her eyes from where the Hollow had smacked her in the head earlier, and combined with the various other cuts and broken bones she had received from the Hollow, she was in pretty bad shape.

The Hollow was fading. The humans who'd gathered at the noise earlier had long since scattered. For a rare moment, all was quiet, as those conscious tried to remain that way, and those unconscious...were. Looking around, one could see the area had been painted with varying amounts of red blood, along with the occasional black scorch mark. A Vice-Captain looked very unsteady, two seated officers were panting, on their knees. One Captain and a seated officer, were K.O.'ed, a second captain had a broken Bankai, a third had a deep forehead wound, and the fourth hadn't tried to get up since being knocked down.
Upon further examination, the reason was obvious; his leg was bent the wrong way. As his armor flowed back into being dogtags, the pain he was showing was obvious on his face. "Damn, my knee's broken. Sorry, Todesannaherungen. You got hit pretty hard," he said, though only he could hear the reply, "This coming from a guy who can't stand? I'm fine; I'm your armor, remember? I'm the one who's supposed to take a beating, not you!" "True enough," the Captain answered. Detaching his zanpakutoh sheath from his back, he managed to force himself onto his feet, using his sword as a crutch. "Hey, Galm; where are ya?" No response. Looking around, he saw her; she was unconscious, having been hit by a flying captain when her reiatsu was low. How were they going to bring back two comatose shinigami, a guy with a gimp, and a ginormous woodchipper?

Rikka wasn't sure at what to do first; as it had been her actual first encounter to this type of problem. Was she supposed to go to her injured captain or tend to the seated officers... She decided to go to her captain, where as he seemed the one that could use the most help. She ran toward him, almost tripping a few times. When she stood in front of him, she gave him a weak smile.
"Um, sir. You can lean against me... or not." She blushed, remembering how small she was to him; she would be crushed... "How can I help you then?" She looked around, seeing that Galm wasn't was unconsciouses and probably wouldn't be healing anyone when she got up. The fact that almost everyones reiatsu was low wasn't good.

Raigen looked around, pondering. The whole time they were there, he had practically been daydreaming as he moved. 'Maybe I shouldn't have come...' he thought to himself. Coming back to the World of the Living should've been out of the question. It hadn't been long enough for him. And, to make matters worse, he still felt so new. Raigen felt useless as he stared at the others around him. And in a sad way, he felt as if he had let everyone down. He felt as if he hadn't done enough. He merely stood by and did such little fighting.
On the inside, he was secretly beating himself up. He knew he could've done more, but he was too busy wallowing in his sadness of being back. The male mentally slapped himself. 'How dare I be so weak.'
He slipped his index finger to his mouth and sucked on it for a moment, pondering once again. He simply didn't know what to do. Should he go try to heal someone? Or would he be better off just staying in the spot where he kneeled? He shook his head and slouched a bit, remaining indecisive.

"Daaamn... Whatever the hell happened here, I'm regretting that I missed out on it!" This was the only thing Zero had to say as he took in the scenery around him as he wandered through the city, semi-aimlessly. He knew what he had to do and where he had to go to do it... Problem was... "This is what I get for hunting for any possible copies of Weekly Jump Magazine in the afterlife.... And actually succeeding..."
--------------Demon Art #00.01: Flashback!-------------- Zero stood at half-attention in the meeting he, along with several others, had been called to about... Something involving assisting a possibly injured squad of shinigami in the world of the living, and getting them back for recuperation before any other threats could pop up... He wasn't sure. He was focused a little more on reading his newly-obtained copy of Weekly Jump.... --------------Flashback.... KAI!--------------------------
Sighing in his annoyance at his own childish addiction, he shook his head slightly to regain his focus on the situation, and not let his mind wander again. "Hm... The destruction gets worse in this direction... It MUST be where the group that need's assistance are!" After deducing the rather obvious, causing a tumbleweed to roll by with a rather silent wind, he began to run in the direction of the increasing signs of a massive fight. He grinned to himself as he saw the shillouettes of others in the distance, he doubled his pace... Untill he tripped on a small pothole just a few feet away, landing not-so-gracefully on his face. "Itai...!" He grumbled as he pushed himself up, and spat out some loose gravel that had gotten into his mouth, before half-calmly, half-eagerly spoke. "Seated Officer of Ninth Division, Shippuryu Zero, reporting for duty!" 'Damn that was lame... I honestly hope that my captain isn't here to see me make an ass of myself right now... I'd hate to make that as a first impression.'..

Hotaru followed closely behind Zero, her long blade drawn and shouldered in case any lingering enemies decided to show up. The group of Shinigami that had been sent on the retrieval mission was rather... small, consisting of two of Squad IX's Seated Officers, Squad II's Vice Captain, and all of two normal-ranked Shinigami. It was a few minutes before they arrived on the scene, Kotone instantly rushing to her Captain's aid. She knelt in the pool of blood, lightly laying her hands on his stomach "Yuu-kun... Stay with me...." She murmered as she began to heal the headstrong Captain.
(meanwhile)
"Damnit.... It's about time they sent help..." Juno muttered as she groped for the handles of her Zanpakutoh, grunting as she used the blades to help support her. Her midnight blue eyes soon landed on her subordinates, sighing as Zero's face met with the cracked asphalt. The diminutive Captain waited for him to stand back to his feet before giving her first order to the seemingly wound-up Seated Officer. "At ease, Shippuryu." Juno also gave a slight nod of acknowledgment to the chocolate-haired woman loosely standing at attention beside Zero. "You two... I want you to see what you can do for the more seriously injured at the moment. Please. Worry not about me." Both of them could easily see their Captain's current state was not one that could be shrugged off as easily as she was trying to, and Hotaru would have none of it.
"You're in just as bad of a shape as anyone else here, Juno... Er... Captain. Please, just sit back down. Let us take care of this! That's why we're here after all. Besides... We're not going to carry on until you sit your cute little butt back down!" None other than Hotaru Takahashi could worm out of subordination charges by flirting.
Reluctantly, Juno sank back to the ground, leaning against a piece of debris. Her eyes remained watchful, though, keeping track of everything going on as her Seated officers went to work, smeared layers of blood and dirt hiding the faintest signs of a blush.

"Er... Okay... I'm just gonna' get Transport ready..." He said with a slight sweatdrop, and a small blush at the scene. 'Okay... despite the wounds, and dirt... THERE IS A KAMI!! MY CAPTAIN IS HOT!!' After a chibi-version of himself did a victory dance, and getting a good distance away from them, he shook his head to clear it of his not-so-professional thoughts. "Okay... Focus...." He unsheathed his zanpakuto, the hilt of which instantly shifted and wrapped around his wrist and forearm. "Let's get some work done! Rock On, Wōrokku!!" It was with this, that the blade changed into a blue, bi-tinted buster cannon, before shifting into a glove. "Now, think... We need some form of transportation... Man, if only I had some sort of cart..." That's when inspiration hit him like a ton of bricks. He grinned, before clenching his gloved hand into a fist, and striking the ground. "Triple Crack!!" With that, and an impressive tremor, three rectangular plates of concrete erupted from the ground and landed a few meters away. "OKay... Concrete is no good on wounds... Too dirty..." He pondered, before grinning. "Grass Seed!" Forming three green capsules with his reiatsu, he chucked one onto each platform, causing the surface to shift from hard concrete into lush grass. He began to sweat slightly at this point. Triple crack was tough to pull off, and Grass Seeds were only supposed to be made one at a time... But he couldn't stop here. "Okay... One more... Triple-YoYo!!" The glove rapidly shifted back into buster form, before three bladed disks trailing rope were launched, each one imbedding deeply into one of the platforms. Now rather tired, his dispelled his shikai, and sat down for a moment, attempting to catch his breath. "Damn... Still need to work on enduring the stronger powers of Wōrokku..." After regaining some strength, he grabbed the ropes left from the YoYos, and began to drag the three platforms back to the injured group.

Meanwhile, one of the standard shinigami, from fourth squad, was having a rather heated discussion with Razgriz;
"Whadda mean you're 'fine?!' Your knee bends the wrong way, sir!" "I told you; I'm fine. I have a spare. Concentrate on the seriously wounded!" "YOU'RE seriously wounded!" "No, no! People who're bleeding out of the torso area!" "YOU'RE BLEEDING OUT OF THE TORSO AREA!!" "It's only a flesh wound! I've had worse! My knee, for instance!" "Arrgh! Fine! I give up! Where's the rest of your squad?!" "They're over there," the captain said, gesturing. "You might want to watch your blood pressure; it's bad for you when it gets so high." *smack* "Oh, yeah, sure; hit the cripple!"
*-*-*-*-*-*Five minutes of this silliness later*-*-*-*-*-*
"Hey; aren't you that medic who's supposed to be really good? Galm, Right? Why aren't you in fourth squad?" "Yeah; it's because I do a lot of Offensive kidou, too; not just medical. Say; are you alright? Your face looks red." "You can blame your Captain for that one. 'Spare leg' my ass... You hurt anywhere?" "I probably have a minor concussion and a few cracked ribs, but I'll live. Help those who really need it." "...WHY DO YOU PEOPLE HATE ME?!?!?!"

After a while of this fun, Captain Phoenix rose from the ashes. Or rather, he tried to. His arms pushed out as his eyes opened, looking down at the concrete below. Unfortunately for him, his arms then gave out, and he fell flat on his face again. "Ow." he said plainly, before rolling over.
"Easy Sir." the unnamed Shinigami said, trying to heal his wounds. Tahoshi smiled, and let his eyes close again, waiting for the shinigami to finish off. He still wouldn't be able to do anything, his Reiatsu was all but gone. He didn't even have enough left to hover like he usually did.
"Did we.... do it?" he asked slowly, not wanting to open his eyes again, for the bright light generated by the healing Kidou.
"You did it." the young shinigami replied, hoping he was referring to the vasto lorde. "The systems said it was a Vasto Lorde... That's amazing!" he carried on, in total awe of the Captains and Vice captains that littered the battlefield. Soon, Tahoshi was able to sit up, the ash that was covering him fell to the ground, and covered the hilt of his sword.
Picking it up, he could feel that it was out of power. He put the hilt in his pocket, the blade was gone, so there was nothing much he could do right now, and probably nothing he could do for a while to come.
"maybe i could..." he began thinking, then stood up. The most of his wounds had been healed, and he'd recovered enough Reiatsu to be able to move, although slowly, and at ground level. As he walked, his haori had fallen apart, the fire from his Bankai ruined it even more than it did when he became a human meteor, leaving him with just his shihakushou.
"We won." he smiled.

A few minutes later, a rather flustered Shinigami stormed over to Juno. He knelt beside her, obviously rather irate. "Captain Breyer. Don't you dare tell me that you aren't in need of medical treatment. Because I can tell that you most definitely are." He then began his attempt to heal her, which was promptly swatted away. One of the Shinigami's eyebrows twitched after she did this. "Thanks for the offer... But I've survived worse." "What? You've survived worse? I am honestly surprized that you survived these wounds!" He was now in the process of thoroughly checking her wounds. "Captain... You've got a broken arm, shoulder, and at least 2 broken ribs. I don't know if there's any hemorrhaging... Christ! Your skull is fractured in FOUR PLACES!" He continued on questioning her. "How many fingers am I holding up?" "...Six..." "What's your rank?" "Vice Captain..." The Shinigami was growing worried. It seemed that the hit to her head was slowly getting to her as the adrenaline from the fight died down. "How did this happen...." He muttered, "I could have sworn she'd be too fast to be caught by a Hollow..." "It didn't catch me..." she rebuked, glaring slightly. "I tripped into it's fist..." They continued the questioning/arguing, going back and forth while the Shinigami healed her wounds the best he could. He got most of the broken limbs healed, as well as her ribs. But he couldn't do much for any brain trauma she had suffered. He just wasn't skilled enough to do so. Someone else would have to, but the only Shinigami present capable of doing so were already busy of too injured to help. "....Damn it."

Taking a closer look at those around him, Razgriz realized that the few present couldn't quite help everyone. Not only were they not quite skilled enough for some of the injuries (such as the multi-skull-fracture everyone'd just heard Capt. Breyer had), but, even if they were, there weren't enough of them. Galm was good, but she was tired. Unless...
"Hey, fourth squad dude!" "Not you again! Change your mind, O Captain with the omni-directional knee?" "No, no, I'm still being stubborn. However: I wanna show you a trick that might be useful for getting tired people to help, particularly tired women." Limping over to Galm, he explained his...technique. "I picked this one up in my high school. Pay close attention: what you do is..." With that, he extended a hand, and squeezed the mage's left kidney. Jumping up with an uncharacteristically high squeal, Galm smacked him in the back of the head. "As you can see, where she was just wiped out, now she's perked up enough to jump to her feet and smack me in half a second. She'll probably be able to help for a little longer now; do that if you have to, but don't give her any warning. You gotta be like a ninja with it."
At the word "ninja," Razgriz squeezed the aforementioned kidney again, causing Galm to jump backwards approximately 10 feet, stumble over her feet, recover her balance right in front of Juno, and promptly start healing her physical wounds.
"Wow. I didn't think it would work that well." *smack* "Hit the cripple again, why don't ya!" *smack*

And a minute or so later, a whoop of excitement could be heard in the distance, accompanied by the sound of compacted and solidified earth sliding across concrete at a fast pace. "The Medical Cavalry has arrived!!" Zero shouted from his position on top of the middle plate, as he kept the other two at the sides with the ropes. He had managed to find a surprisingly large and just as surprisingly strong dog, and after offering it a treat, got it to help him in getting the three plates to those who needed the transport. "Mush!" He joked, as he and the dog, who Zero now had affectionately named "Rush", neared the group of injured and in need of medical attention, skidding to a stop just in front of the location. Zero hopped off the center platform, and walked over to Rush, and giving him a pat on the head, a scratch behind the ears, and another treat, before Rush.... pounced on the irate medic in an attempt to make him it's bitch. Zero chose to ignore the sight, before walking over to his captain, and grinned. "Need a lift?" He asked, holding a hand out to help her up and to the platforms.

Tahoshi was normally alot more lively than this, but right now, the only thing that brought him close to a smile was the fact that they'd destroyed a Vasto Lorde.
"Tiamat?" He asked himself out loud, holding the hilt of his zanpakutoh, bladeless. This was the first time he'd fought hard enough to damage his weapon - his soul. He looked up at the sky, and fell backwards onto the slabs of concrete created by Zero. The cool grass was soft and inviting, just asking him to sleep. He couldn't though. He just lay there, and waited while the medics carried the wounded to the concrete, and got them all onto it, ready for Zero to guide them back to Seireitei.
People were feeling helpful in Seireitei (for once) and opened the Senkaimon near to them, letting all of them get in, back home... Ready for a well earned rest. It was over... For now...
