Yes, we've all seen it. Someone with Reiatsu so high, they can make everyone around them collapse under the pressure.
This will show what difference it can make to you, if you have a low Reiatsu, or your enemy is just plain higher.
Ok. For anyone under Reiatsu 50, you cannot benefit from having a higher reiatsu than your enemy. Sorry.
So. For those that have a Reiatsu above 50, that is higher than their enemies by 10, can expect to be able to lower their enemies abilities by 1 point. (worthless, eh?)
For every 5 more than this, their enemies skill will be lowered by a further 1 point.
So. Someone who has 50 more Reiatsu than you can use the sheer pressure of their spirit force to reduce your skills by...
50-10 = 40 (1 point)
40/5 = 8 (9 points total)
That means 9 points is lost from every skill you have, except for Reiatsu, and the ability to hide your own Reiatsu. The fact that there is an overwhelming Reiatsu nearby, no one would be able to sense yours anyway, and it would be pointless trying to sense a different one, because the one in front of you is hyuuge, and right in front of you.
If anyone (Read: Admins) thinks this is too high, or can come up with a better idea, please let me know!
Maybe a bonus here if you are on the receiving end of a very powerful reiatsu and you go into Bankai? Would the spirit power of your Zanpakutoh spirit relieve some of this for you? I'm not sure! DISCUSS!
Right. From our discussions, We have decided that there is a chance that the overwhelming power of the enemy can cripple you. Not only are your skills reduced, but If the reduction is greater than the average level of your skills (so thats 10 for shinigami, 15 for seated officers, 20 for VC's and 25 for Captains) then you are forced to your knees and pretty much unable to act. In the above example, no one would be forced to their knees. But a lowly Shinigami would be unable to act against someone with a Reiatsu level that is 55 higher than their own, meaning a 10 point loss in everything.
Once again, to everyone else... I apologise for adding new rules all the time. I hope you all read this, and are ok with being a ginea pig for this games rules. Don't forget that we are only 6 months old... New things are coming up all the time in Bleach, which means new things will have to appear here to reflect that.
That is all.
