Yamikos soft steady yet utterly aimless steps slowly made their way into the hospital. Again she stopped for a moment looking around seemingly thinking. Then she began walking again moving from the various wounded, softly smiling, somehow managing to not once stand in the way of any healer. Sometimes a Shinigami would die. The healers of 4th squad would then mostly cry out in despair or quickly with hollow eyes and faces move on to the next one because their were many wounded. But Yamiko was smiling.

mei hurried back to jewel-taicho's conference room. on the way as she turned a corner she nearly ran into captain tahoshi. she quickly stepped aside and flattened herself against the wall as he passed. she looked down a bit embarrassed as that she had burst in on him and the others completely naked. just behind him his vice captain ryoko strolled silently. as ryoko passed mei waved and smiled brightly. mei's smile faltered as ryoko seemed to ignore her entirely. mei figured ryoko had not seem her, though part of her wasn't really sure how blind ryoko really was, she seemed to be able to tell where everyone was without effort. mei sucked up her gut and turned toward ryoko saying, "have a nice day miss vice captain ryoko." ryoko paused, turned and said, "good day to you miss... um?" mei was shocked, they had taken many classes together in the academy, in the first mei had even left a a love note in ryoko's shoe locker. dispite this ryoko continued to ignore her completely. "i'm mei, we had class together," mei said trying to smile again. "oh yes, mei," ryoko said acting as if she didn't remember. "well have a nice day." with that ryoko turned and hurried off to catch up with her captain. mei huffed as ryoko hurried away and pouted. after a moment she hurried into jewel-taicho conference room.
-----------------------------------------------------------
jewel sighed and slumped down in her chair. it looked like tahoshi was set on a taking on kyuuketsuki within the safety of seireitei and with the captain commander died there was no higher source to take the issue to. jewel grumbled to herself. if the fight were to go all pear shaped there would be no more seireitei, no safety for the souls left over from the mortal realm. jewel sighed and pulled out a long thin brush and paper. as the others filed out of the room jewel set to writing a letter. it didn't take long fro the room to empty and after a moment mei entered the room. jewel looked up at her favorite subordinate. mei's cheek were red and she looked like she was about to cry. jewel sighed and set down her brush. "mei what is it?" mei looked down, still a little hurt and embarrassed. "i bumped into captain tahoshi and... and..." she said then stumbled in her words. "and?" jewel asked before it hit her. "her," was all mei said, and all she really had to say. jewel sighed and stood up folding the letter and putting it in her robes. jewel closed the space between them and huged her gently then scuffed up mei's hair. "come on let's get going," jewel said softly. mei sighed and followed after, pulling a pair of goggles from her robes and covering her teary eyes. "where are we going?" mei asked with a sniffle. "squad two," jewel said with a sigh. "do i have to go?" mei said pitifully. "yes," jewel said flatly, than adding, "it will be good for you." mei followed her captain grumbling.

Ryoko hurried to catch up with her Captain, after being held back slightly by that girl.
"Her Reiatsu is faltering... did i annoy her?" She asked herself, finally being able to slow to a walk to follow the others.
Her red blindfold never seemed to need adjusting, almost as if it was a magnet held to a metal plate in her head... But no one had ever heard of a Shinigami with a metal plate in his or her head.
Soon, the group had walked in silence to the Squad Two HQ. This building was quite close to Soukyouku hill, and while most of the captains had been there, this was a treat for the Vice captains and lower ranked Shinigami, as it was a rather secret affair beyond the front room.
Tahoshi held his hand out to a metal plate on the wall. Nothing happened for a good few second, which made some of the shinigami think that Tahoshi had gone mad. Sure enough though, the wall slid open to reveal a huge model of Seireitei. The model was big enough for people to place their feet in the streets, with most of the buildings reaching no higher than their ankles.
Tahoshi's bare feet didn't even touch these buildings though, as he hovered a couple of inches above them. It seemed like this room was custom built for him to wander through Seireitei, memorise its layout, and plan top secret missions. Tahoshi walked to the centre, and stood atop the model of Soukyouku hill.
"Ok. A lot of damage has been done to Seireitei in the recent attacks..." He said, again holding his palm out towards the model city.
"I noticed considerable damage to these buildings..." He said, firing a short burst of Reiatsu at the models, shattering a few of them to match the carnage outside. As he continued his plan, Ryoko stood to the side, leaning against the door.
"What was that even about?" She asked herself, wondering about her meeting with Mei earlier. "I wonder if she knows how my eyes work..."

Hotaru wasn't far behind Tahoshi and Ryoko. Gone was her air of flirty playfulness. It could be seen in the look of fiery determination on her face and in the way she was carrying herself. Typically light steps were firm and sure. Her back was straight. Her Zanpakutoh, which was usually carried very loosely, was gripped firmly by the hilt, the sheathed blade resting heavily on her shoulder.
Kotone shambled along after them, barely able to keep up. She kept her fuming to herself, muttering a few words aloud whenever she fell too far back and had to catch up with the rest of the group. She sighed in relief when they finally got to Tahoshi's headquarters, shoulders slumping slightly as she relaxed, waiting for the Squad 2 Captain to open the door.
---------------------
Juno's breathing was rather shallow, eyes barely open as she laid completely still on the cot Tahoshi had placed her on. Jewel had already fixed up the majority of her physical wounds, but the mental damage would require great care and time before they fully healed, if they even healed at all.
Ohe of her hands clenched tightly at the heavy blanket covering her, various whispers of hate, rumours, and speculation drifting around the room. This, combined with the memories of her magnificent rampage amongst the ranks of Shinigami brought forth a soft sob. Rolling to her side, she pulled the blanket up over her head, hiding in the comforting warmth and darkness it provided like a small child woken from a nightmare. One of the Seated Officers that had been assigned to her bedside to ward off unruly shinigami looked back over his shoulder at the sob. Sighing, he turned his eyes back to the room.
------------------------
"So how are we gonna pull this off?" Hotaru asked, slowly strolling around the model while tapping her sword idly against her shoulder. Her gaze was racing through streets and alleys, taking in all the changes caused by the battles that had been plaguing their city. So many old routes had been blocked off by crumbling ruins, though this had, in turn, opened up a multitude of new ones.
"Yes... As much as I hate to admit it... I fear there are not enough able-bodied Shinigami to defend Seireitei. And if this plan of yours backfires, Tahoshi... What are we going to do, then?" Kotone chimed in, rubbing her chin ans she gently shook her head from side to side. "We need to bolster our numbers. Just in case."

on the way to the headquarters of squad two jewel decided to stop by her favorite flower shop. in her days as a street corner flower girl she worked for this flower shop and she liked to stop by from time to time just to pick up a few fresh blooms. "ah, jewel-taicho, do we have to stop here?" mei asked crossing her arms in a huff. she was still irked that ryoko didn't seem to notice her. "you know what mei, how about you just get her some flowers, she can't ignore flowers, and besides, it's fun choseing them," jewel said with a smile. "do you really think it could help?" mei said hopefully. "as your captain i can tell you with some confidence that if it all goes south, she gets mad, and rejects you i promise that there will always be tissue in my office," jewel said with a wink. "i'm not sure if that's a good thing or not," mei said scratching her head. "oh come on let's get some flowers," jewel said grinning, grabbing her by the hand, and yanking her toward the flower selection.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
jewel and mei arrived last to the meeting. tey spent nearly and hour flower shopping. the result was a nice flower in jewel's sash and mei carrying a massive bouquet of beautifully arranged flowers. "sorry we're late," jewel said walking in and glancing around at the others and the little city. "we had to make a pit stop." mei stood terrified shaking like a leaf in the wind. it wasn't until jewel pushed her toward ryoko that she moved. mei stumbled over arms outstretched. "ummm... these are... ummm... these are for you miss vice captain ry-ryoko," she stammered handing the massive bouquet to ryoko. [if anyone wants to complain about the mushyness of this post i want them to know... i like this post alot... i think it's sweet...]

Yamiko had seen Captain Tahoshi as she walked through the Hospital. Seeing him reminded her that somebody had told her that she was supposed to follow him. So she did. She had simply started walking behind him, never saying anything, just smiling her usual smile. She had not reacted in anyway to anything happening around them, maybe not even noticing anything, had completely ignored all of the other Shinigami...

Ryoko was surprised, to say the least, at being handed a bouquet of flowers, especially one so large. Since they were flowers that had come from Seireitei, they had a faint spiritual aura around them, so Ryoko knew exactly where they were, and what they were.
"umm.... thankyou...?" she hazarded, not sure what to say at all. She definitely wasn't the romancey type, and although she now had clear confirmation that Mei seemed to like her, she was still at a complete loss at what to do.
"Sorry... Taicho's starting his plan now..." She said, hoping it wouldn't hurt Mei's feelings, while giving her time to think about what had just happened.
--------------------------------------------------
"These four buildings are still the highest in Seireitei." Tahoshi said, pointing out one building in each of the quadrants. "And we still have Soukyouku hill in the centre. These are perfect vantage points." He continued.
"We need to spread out over these positions, and hope Kyuuketsuki is going to try and pick us off. The moment we see a faltering reiatsu, we all rush to that point and use our most powerful attacks on it." He finished.
It didn't sound like a very well thought out plan, but at least it was a plan. Tahoshi surveyed the room of troubled expressions, and hoped to fix at least some of that.
"If I take Soukyouku hill, I can hold him off long enough for everyone else to get there, and if he shows up at any other point, it will only take me five flash jumps to get to you." He explained.
"I've gotten faster. It used to take six." He added. "Juno is still the fastest here... She does it in three. I hope she recovers soon, as if this fails, we'll need her speed to catch him."

Post by Sir Razgriz on Nov 22, 2009 6:00:30 GMT 1
Having spent a substantial time wandering through Seireitei simply trying to get to 4th Squad's HQ, a still-drained Razgriz completely missed most of the briefing, walking on Tahoshi saying the plan hinged on Kyuuketsuki trying to pick them off, then everyone else rushing to help them.
"Alright, so I guess we're basically going to all be live bait. I'm assuming you already talked about us being injured, unless this is for...however long in the future. Just one problem: Tahoshi, you might be able to get all over Seireitei in just a few jumps, but just coming here from 1st Squad's HQ took me how long? If I was well-rested when I was can around at a good clip for about 8 miles. You guys can all flash-jump that in about 30 seconds to a minute. Me? Not so much. Doing any shunpo for me is like sprinting that far; no way I'd be able to go all the way across Seireitei. I'm starting to ramble, so lemme just cut to the chase: Kyuu isn't an idiot; he probably knows I'm slow, thanks to Juno. He'll go after someone else so he has to deal with fewer people. Prolly Juno again, given that she'll be in prision and can't defend herself."
Not even pausing to let anyone say anything, he added on, "Plus, using individual captains as live bait is just stupid. He killed Zenai, 3rd squad's last captain, in one attack. Sure, he mainly fought by just throwing his reiatsu around, but he easily had twice what any of us had. Kyuu absorbed that, so he'll be able to overpower us individually no problem. We gotta group together everyone, and I mean everyone; everyone still combat ready in the 13 squads. Have 'em all be in one spot. He'll go there. If we defeat him then, sweet. If he kills us all, well, then we die together instead of getting picked off and save a bit of time. Just my two cents, but then again I'm tired as hell so my mind's a bit foggy."
Dead silence.
"Oh, boy..."

jewel sighed. she wished there was tea, these types of meetings always went better if there was tea. the thought of that monster hollow in seireitei was horrid, it had to be more powerful than 3 captains and their vice captains. it had only taken one captain to bring seireitei to it's knees, and they still hadn't recovered from that. dispite this tahoshi had come up with a new plan to lure the beast into the walls of their sanctuary and let it run loose, hoping that one of them will not only survive, but claim victory of the beast. it was all so impractical and disaster ridden she was surprise he had even said it.
===================================
meanwhile mei tried her best to smile. she in her eyes she had all but been rejected. to her having no interest was just about the same as detesting her. she felt almost completely crushed. the sense of doom loomed around her. after a moment she headed back over beside jewel-taicho and stood in a sort of standing coma. she was pretty sure people around her were talking, but she couldn't really hear them. after a moment she felt the warm hand of jewel gently rest on her shoulder.
===================================
there was a moment of silence. razgriz had just announced himself perhaps one of the slowest people in seireitei and no one was really sure how to follow up what he had said. after a painfully long moment jewel at last spoke. "as much as hate it, i agree," she began. "tahoshi, your insane and i'd gladly kick you out of seireitei just for thinking of luring that beast into our home, especialy when at least half of seireitei defenses are in the dust thanks to a single captain. this beast has got to be as strong as at least three of us, and i don't mean three of us at shikai either. the most likely outcome of this hair brained scheme would be the total distruction of seireitei along with the most of the shinigami race." jewel paused to sigh angrily and brush a hair from her face, before continuing. "as captain of the 4th squad i won't let any plan that would involve greater risk than gain. so you better come up with a better plan than "lets let him in and see what happens" or i might just have to kick your ass right here just to prove my point!" jewel seldom swore and the affect of it silenced everyone in a heart beat.
[sorry about the swearing, i tried writing it without the "@$$" bit, but it didn't sound as good]

Tahoshi stopped, and tried to take in what had been said.
"You're right." He muttered quietly. It wasn't often that Tahoshi accepted that he was wrong.
He looked up to the group again. "I have a way of making it work though." He said, the gears of his mind whirring at high speed.
"As far as I know, the Technological squad was working on a device to truly hide spiritual power, beyond the sensing abilities of anyone. It's a huge device, and works a bit like a room at the moment, but If we could use this to hide most of us, and draw Kyuuketsuki in with a decoy or bait, we could surround him easily."
Tahoshi walked across his model of Seireitei. "We need to set it up here." He said, hovering near to the squad 4 HQ.
"I know what you're going to say, but this is the best bet. Kyuuketsuki will be more inclined to attack someone here, as he may think we're injured." He added. "Is that better?"
----------------------
Ryoko didn't care what the plan was. She just wanted to be a part of it, to help save all of Seireitei from this beast. At this particular moment though, she was concentrating on the spiritual energies of Mei. She appeared to be red and flustered, as evidenced by her fluctuating Reiatsu.
"Sometimes i wonder if it would be easier to just go along with what people want.." She thought to herself.
She walked over to Mei and Jewel while Tahoshi was talking. She placed a hand on Mei's shoulder, and leant in towards her back, so she could whisper and not interrupt the meeting.
"Sorry. It's nothing to do with you, I'm just not interested in anything like that right now."

mei had hope. not very much, just enough to get by. though ryoko probably didn't realize that she had given her this sliver of hope, she had. by saying she wasn't interested "right now", it seemed to mei that she would be later. it just meant she had to hold on a little longer. she lifted her head and smiled at ryoko. "it's ok..." she managed to get out. she was torn between getting what hope she could and the knowing that she probably meant that she would never be interested at all.
==================================
jewel sighed. "if we must, the nearer to squad the better" she began uncrossing her arms and resting her hands on her hips. "it will make getting any injured out that much easier, but we need a back up plan." she walked over to tahoshi examining the model of the city as she walked. "there's no garantee that we can even beat him if he enters the city. and if we fail..."she looked from tahoshi to the other's gathered in the room. "i don't think i need to remind any of you what would happen then..."

"Razgriz!" Cried Rikka as she entered the meeting, a little late, but for Rikka that happened to be right on time. Ignoring the serious tension in the room, she basically tackled Razgriz in the form of a glomp. "We got serperated... and I was worried Captain. Then I felt your energy by Juno and... " taking a second look at the room she noticed that everyone was staring at them. Her face turned a bright red as she stepped away from her captain and look down at his feet. "Sorry..." She then took her stance next to her caption, him towering over her short frame. Out of embarrassment she took a serious interest in the discussion, hoping to finally prove herself useful.
"If we all clump together though, we might have a good chance at holding him off, but its going to be chaotic. What if we kill each other because were all so packed together. Also, I don't think its a good idea to have the medic squad fighting. Instead I think they should be trying to heal injuries as they come, keep us from losing soldiers meaninglessly."

"No. Jewel is as good a fighter as any of us. It will be a boost to have her there." Tahoshi said, though he did hate to admit that he couldn't take on Kyuuketsuki by himself.
"I will speak to the technology squad, and have it set up as soon as possible. I will send message via your Hell Butterflies as soon as it's ready."
He then waited to see if anyone had any more comments, the sooner he could leave his office and get the plan in action, the sooner they would have Kyuuketsuki's head.

jewel nodded. she as a captain she was as good a fighter as anyone else there, if not better than some. a fight of this magnitude carried with it some risks, but there was not point in delaying it. it was a confrontation that was destined to happen with or without her, and with her there she at least had a chance to make a difference. though she dreaded using her zanpakutoh in such close quarters, against kyuuketsuki she was even more afraid that shikai might not be good enough and she'd have to bring out her bankai, and she knew that if it came to that, there would be more dead than wounded. the thought of all those who had died at the hands of kyuuketsuki was to much, but the thought of facing it and not being able to stop it was even worse. somehow, someway they had to claim victory from the beast. "i will prepare the squad four barracks for heavy casualties," with that she turned and left. she didn't want to dwell in her thoughts for to long. mei lingered behind and waved goodbye to ryoko before following her captain.

Kotone sighed and tapped her fingers against her knee "Well. Tahoshi if this is the plan, then I'll do my best to help with it. But there better be some ace in the hole you aren't telling us about or this is going to be really damn hard." She rose from her chair and gave a slight wave before turning to leave, still relying heavily on her sheathed sword to keep herself steady.
With a frustrated groan, Hotaru headed towards the door as well. "I'll find you later if that's okay with you, Tahoshi-kun. I'm gonna go check on Juno. But let me know asap if anything is gonna happen." She flashed a grin back at Tahoshi and Ryoko and exited the room. Breaking into a run as soon as she left Squad 2 HQ, Hotaru rushed her way back to Squad 4.
Once there, she was greeted by one of the medic Shinigami that was still milling around the large barracks. "Hello there Miss Takahashi." He gave a rushed bow before quickly passing her to tend to another wounded Shinigami that had just been rushed in. "Is there something wrong?"
"No." She replied, looking back to him as she stepped into the room. "I'm here to see Juno. If that's all right." Hotaru idly fiddled with her goggles as she watched the medic.
"Oh." He straightened and rubbed his brow. "Yeah. I trust you of all people won't cause any trouble with her. Follow me." He motioned for another Shinigami to come take care of the wounded girl he was currently treating. "We... moved her away from everyone else. I'm sure you know why."
Hotaru nodded as she followed the medic through a twisting path through the wounded to a secluded corner of the room. "I'll leave in a moment." He then gave Juno a quick once-over, making sure her condition hadn't worsened since she had last been checked on. With a relieved sigh he stepped over to the Shinigami waiting patiently behind him. "All right. She's still stable. Get me if you need anything, though." With that, he gave a slight salute and left.
Nice man... she idly thought, wondering how many of the others here would provide such impartial service to the one that had inadvertently caused this mess in the first place. With a sigh, she pulled up a chair and sat next to Juno's bedside, eyes resting on her injured friend and Captain. Juno was asleep now, the small woman obviously in need of some heavy downtime. And Hotaru wasn't about to wake her.
