As the Hollow slowed their assault, only the last few remaining, hoping to catch a sleeping Shinigami, or find an easy snack were left. The haze of malicious Reiatsu was finally calming, and the dust was beginning to settle.
Most of the Shinigami were huddled around and inside the Squad 4 HQ, either protecting the wounded from the last remaining Hollow, or being healed by the skilled team of Megumi. A large part of the Thirteen Protection Squads were low on Reiatsu, weak, or wounded, so the next step was all about timing.
Tahoshi partly Ignored Jewel's question, but instead turned towards the masses of Shinigami, huddled around the building.
"I need the strongest of all Seireitei." Tahoshi said to the assembled Shinigami. "Everyone who thinks they could hold out in a fight with me for at least a minute, meet me in the back room for a private meeting. We need to discuss our next move." He said, not letting anyone respond. Instead, he just spun around on his heel, and headed towards the Captains Quarters in the Squad 4 HQ.
The sky had a red tinge from the days fighting, the blood from many deaths and countless injuries hung over everyone, especially the death of the Captain Commander. This was an historic day, but not of the good kind. This was the first and only instance of a Captain Commander being killed while inside Seireitei. A previously unheard of act of destruction and terrorism, and more than enough to put the entire Shinigami race on edge, ready to pounce at the slightest provocation.
This was going to need some strong resolve to get through...

jewel grumbled at tahoshi and turned to kotone and hotaru. "yes?" seeing the two she ran over, "my gawd what happened?" she grabbed the two of them and yanked them to one of the more empty hospital rooms.
she grabbed a blanket and threw it over kotone and began to examine the disfigured tissue.

With her eyes locked on Juno, Hotaru listened rather intently to what Tahoshi had to say. One fist was clenched at her side, the other holding tight to her Zanpakutoh. So he's putting together a strike force, huh? Her lips twisted into a grin. We're gonna go kick Kyuuketsuki's face in... The brunette took a step forward I know it! She broke into a hurried walk, quickly following after Tahoshi. She still had the strength in her to fight, and she had some questions for the Captain as well...
---------------------
With Hotaru having abandoned her to see what Tahoshi had up his sleeves, Kotone was once again off-balance. It wasn't for long, though, as Jewel was soon at her side, trying to see what was wrong with her. In the empty room, she didn't feel like she needed to hide it anymore and shifted her body so that her left side was easily accessible to the Medic Captain. It was drenched in blood, the arm having been sliced clean off. There were two other claw marks going down her front, caused by the same claw swipe that severed her arm.
"A Hollow happened." Kotone replied with a weak sneer, trying her best not to fall into unconsciousness. It looked like it could happen at any moment, though, the Vice Captain pale and shaky from substantial bloodloss.

with the grace most other shinigami's only wished they had, jewel began to stitch closed kotone's shoulder. "as much as i wish i could do more we're to low on supplies to reform your arm now," she said finishing the job before kotone could really even notice she had begun stitching. with the same skill she stitched closed kotone's deeper wounds and bandaged the shallower ones. "i should have you combat ready by the end of the day," she said and smiled.

In the back room, Tahoshi waited patiently for anyone that was willing to join in. Hotaru entered the room before Tahoshi could even turn to close the door behind him.
"Ahh, eagerness is always a good thing." Tahoshi said, giving a smile. "I hope you're fit for combat." he said, sitting in Jewel's chair while he waited for others to show up.
"I won't tell you yet, I don't want to have to repeat myself when others show up." He said to Hotaru. He absent mindedly rubbed a wound from his fight with Juno, the blood stains on his shirt seemed to blend in with the other bloodstains, making it look like he was wearing a red vest. The Flashcry he had used during the fight had worn both him, and his jacket out.
"Tiamat, are you going to be ready for this?" He asked, seemingly to no one. Hotaru knew that he was checking that his Zanpakutou was ready for it all.

"Thanks..." Kotone grumbled as she fell back against the bed, the intense stabbing pain in her upper torso having dulled to more of a friendly bludgeoning. Her head was still throbbing, though laying down had made her feel much less dizzy. She spent a few minutes lying there, thinking about the hectic events of the past few days. It seemed like it had been longer.
Rubbing her eyes with her hand, she slowly sat back up and grabbed for her Zanpakutoh. Shakily, Kotone slid off of the bed, using her weapon as a makeshift cane to help her make her way to the door. It was slow goings, the tawny-haired vice captain taking her time. She stopped in the doorway, somewhat hesitant to head back into the throng of shinigami, but she needed to. Biting her lip, she continued on, more or less ignoring the few people that talked to her, save for one Officer from her squad.
Kotone pulled the shinigami to the side, bending low to whisper in her ear. "Make sure the Captain knows I'm okay. He's probably still out dealing with the remaining Hollow..." She straightened and dismissed the girl, watching her leave before finishing her trek to the room Tahoshi had usurped for himself. Kotone steadied herself and rested her Zanpakutoh against the wall, using her now freed hand to fix her disheveled hair. It was... an experience, to say the least, retying the knot proving to be rather difficult. Cursing under her breath, she finally got the white ribbon somewhat secured.
Still muttering curses, she slid the door open, grabbed her Zanpakutoh, and hobbled in.
-----------------
Hotaru leaned against the wall in silence, watching nothing in particular as Tahoshi conversed with his Zanpakutoh. Her own was nestled in the crook of her arm, the tip resting near her feet. Sighing, she shifted uncomfortably and rubbed the side of her neck. "Tahoshi... What if no one else comes to help? We'll just go by ourselves, right?" She took a step away from the wall, catching her Zanpakutoh by the leather strap attached to the scabbard. "Or we'll find some help." She seemed very determined, nothing was going to stop her from helping bring down the beast that had caused so much trauma to them all.
Curiously, she looked behind her as the door slid open. "Kotone? What the hell are you doing here?"
The Vice Captain scoffed and sat heavily in the nearest chair. "I want to help. Why else would I be here?" Her eyes narrowed to a glare as she noticed Hotaru looking at where her left arm should be. "Don't think I've suddenly become useless just because of this." She shrugged her left shoulder and bit back a wince.
Shaking her head, Hotaru walked over to the door and closed it once more. "Well if you think yourself fit..." She had no authority to keep the other woman from coming after all, and would just have to do her best to keep herself from beating Kotone's face in. The Vice Captain was, after all, one of the few people that Hotaru had a difficult time getting along with, and the whole incident with Kyuuketsuki just made her relations with her that much more horrible. Hopefully she'll know to keep her mouth shut... the brunette mused, Otherwise this mission's gonna be hell.

The streets were full of death, again.
The day Kyuuketsuki revealed himself, he did it in the real world by slaying Captain Zenai Nakasaka of 3rd squad. Capt. Nakasaka was well-known for his reiatsu and endurance, but even he didn’t last more than a few seconds. With the power limiters into account, the only reason he didn’t destroy the entire strike force was because a recently-promoted Captain Juno Breyer, seeking to avenge her fallen captain, managed to land a blow that missed his mask by inches but forced his retreat. However, that day was also the first time he’d sent a strike force of his own into Seireitei, a strike force which altogether slaughtered an entire company of shinigami, to say nothing of the damage the city suffered.
Time passed, the streets were cleaned, the dead were mourned, and the buildings were repaired. A mission to the real world results in the vast majority of participants coming back heavily wounded, with a few in critical condition. One of the patients escapes and begins slaughtering those who stand in the way of her escape – the very captain that repelled Kyuuketsuki before. She escapes, and in her wake is left another slew of casualties – mostly bodies. However, Seated Officer Galm Ingram “merely” sustained critical wounds in a battle with her, including a puncture in the gut, a slash across the neck, and high-degree burns from effectively her own last-ditch kidou nuke.
Two more months go by, and once again Seireitei is at least structurally re-assembled. However, the memories are weighty, and there is a significant power vacuum from Kyuuketsuki’s past handiwork. When the alarum rang again, and nearly two dozen menos-class hollows suddenly appeared in Seireitei, the entire shinigami body mobilized to defend the city. In this fighting, many more shinigami were struck down and the town was once again ravaged. The Captain-Commader himself, leader of Seireitei, was even cut down in the battle by the former Captain Breyer. Captains Hirako Tahoshi and Razgriz Hremsfeld met her in combat, but were slowly being defeated by her and her newly-acquired bankai. However, the loss of the agent corrupting her mind made Breyer seem to snap out of a trance and be able to be talked into surrendering peacefully.
After Capt. Tahoshi took her down to the hospital to get her wounds attended to, Razgriz followed, taking a leisurely pensive stroll down there, if leisurely pensive strolls typically involve slaying the occasional low-level Hollow still in the city. As he walked, he began thinking about those events, how the fate of so many had been resting on only a few, how he could have acted differently to perhaps have saved a few lives rather than simply survive until the strongest opponent had been incapacitated –but not by him, and not by Tahoshi. They got lucky. Kyuuketsuki used the same tactic twice, the city was unprepared twice, and now they were sure as hell gonna pay for it. The entire 1st squad was wiped out – there was no one to step up to the Captain-Commander’s place, so it seemed likely martial law would follow; 2nd squad’s specialty. So that settles the leadership problem up top, but what about on the squad level? So many squads were missing their captain, vice-captain, or both, either from death, injuries, or for having cause the deaths and injuries to begin with. As far as Razgriz was concerned, he was glad that Breyer had been taken alive, as she had been a good captain when he was her VC. Beyond that, he could care less what happened to who he saw as an ex-shinigami. Her squad lost its original captain to Kyuuketsuki, much like the squad he now commanded did. Both squads had a Vice-Captain have to step up, bringing a seated officer into the rank of their VC. Both times, they were lucky, as the replacement was, indeed, strong enough to be a VC. However, that couldn’t continue, and rather than avenge her fallen captain, Breyer joined up with her killer. If he ever saw Kyuu again, Captain Hremsfeld decided, there would be no holding back.
He would die.

jewel sighed and followed after kotone, stopping briefly to grab her zanpakutoh and headed into the her quarters. "tahoshi your in my seat," jewel said with a smile. she glanced around to the others. "well if you're crazy enough to go after Kyuuketsuki then you're gonna need a damn good medic at you side." she walked around the staff table to her seat. "now then tahoshi can i please have my seat or do i need to sit on your lap?" she said teasingly.

Somewhere in Seiretei Yamiko was walking through the streets. Her eyes were unfocused not really looking at anything and she didn't appear to have any goal in mind just walking leisurely without any haste. Sometimes she would stop for a few moments apparently thinking... or maybe she was waiting... but then she would go on and continue her walk. Sometimes she would end up in a dead end where she would stand for a while looking at the wall. Then she would turn around and go off in a different direction. All the while there was a small serene smile on her face as though she didn't have a worry in the world despite the destruction of the recent Hollow attack still being clear and visible...

Shifting himself from the chair, Tahoshi sat on the desk instead, allowing Jewel back the use of said chair.
"We're going to bait Kyuuketsuki into attacking. He thinks we're all weakened and in a state of chaos, which is why this is going to work." He said, beginning to relay his plan to those who had arrived.
"We spread out around Seireitei, and keep our Reiatsu up." He continued, "Then, when Kyuuketsuki arrives, we all converge on that point... He'll go for us since he thinks we're vulnerable, and won't be expecting that we've planned anything yet."
He paused to take in everyones reactions...

(When you die in this, do you just vanish? Or is there a "body" because your just a soul? If you vanish, I'll have to re-write. :/)
There was a silence that covered the Seretei, a silence that comes only after a great loss. People lost friends and comrades, and most wouldn't be found for days. Lifeless bodies under rubble waiting to be found, to be helped. A morbid air flowed through out the place, down the streets right into the barracks of squad four. There inside sat most of seretei in a bed being healed. They all sat, most with a frighted look about them, but most with a resole of revenge. It was time to make a strike back, to step out of being defensive and step up to the plate, and take down the monster that did this; Kyuuketsuki.
"Ow, my head!" Cried Rikka as she entered the bracks. Walking past people that had lost arms or had stitches she slowly stopped and placed a hand on her head. She figured now wasn't the time to complain about a simple headache. Rikka, for the most part had made it through this whole ordeal with barley a scratch. She hadn't been that productive really, she got into many fights with the hallows protecting the weaker units of the seretei, blinded herself with some random fruit and found her cat and just as soon lost it. She looked around the room, taking in who had made it and who had not. She was relieved to see her captain, and Tahoshi.
Hearing the last little bit oh what Tashoshi had said, she quickly forgot her head hurt. She quickly appeared by him. "Sir, I know what that your thinking nows the time to strike, whiles hes up there gloating. But look how bad we're hurting...." Rikka said waving her had to indcate the room. "Everyone in this room that can fight will want to, but I think we should get some stuff cleared up first. Like, if we went to fight right now, and everyone was bent on revenge, no one will think before they swing. One person could mess this whole plan up. Why don't we just wait, a little longer, let feelings calm, and start a plan then. I think everyone is exhausted right now, both physically and mentally."
Rikka went quiet, stareing at Tashosi, she knew he wasn't going to change what he thought, he was to stubborn. But she hoped it got the everyone a few days of rest. Tahoshi looked like he need some and so did most of the captains. The next few days were going to be hell, even if they aren't attacking. "The seretei is going to go through a period of grief.. and if you try to force people to fight, or take a to small of a group, you will lose. " She nodded then to herself. "But as for fighting, I might not be such good at it, but I might work as an annoying destracton."
Ending probably the most intelligent thing Rikka had said, she put her hand back to her head and sat down, staring up at Tahoshi waiting for his answer.

jewel sighed frustrated. "it's worse than i think either of you have considered. we all seem to believe that kyuuketsuki has thrown all he's got at us... i'm betting this was just a priliminary attack." she crossed her arms. "i'd say that we have two real options here. we can't risk letting kyuuketsuki attack seireitei directly and not striking now would be just as foolish, just in case Kyuuketsuki did throw everything at us. the best chance i can say we can get is that us captains and those with bankai abilities prepare to engage kyuuketsuki outside the city walls. if we make it appear as iff we captains are weakened by the attack and cannot stand our ground outside the city he may attack." she brushed a hair from her face. "the only other place would be the mortal realm and even there the death toll would be far to high..." jewel glanced around the room wondering if even if the could summon kyuuketsuki if they would stand a chance. and seen worse what if kyuuketsuki wasn't the key player here, what if he too was but a pawn to a greater source...
--------------------------------------
mei bolted up in bed, startling several nurses near him. when the hollows had attacked she had gotten caught in the chaos and knocked out in the panic, not getting to see any of the battle. "jewel-taicho! i must warn her! hollow in seireitei!" she lept out of bed completely nude and ran into the main room of the squad four barracks. the room was rank with the scent of blood and of death. mei fell almost in shock. she had missed it. she glanced around looking for jewel-taicho. nothing. what if she had died! mei ran to jewel-taicho's quarters and ripped open the door reveiling tahoshi and jewel amongst several other captains and the strongest of seireitei. at the sudden noise of the door opening jewel and the other looked up at mei, who still was not wearing any clothes.

Tahoshi was just about to open his mouth to reply to all the suggestions when Mei burst through the door, completely naked.
"Jewel, please deal with your subordinates." He said plainly, not moving. He had not been looking towards the door, but his peripheral vision still caught a view.
"if we don't do anything now, Kyuuketsuki will have won. He's already caused the death of the Captain Commander." Tahoshi continued. "My Vice Captain has been in the real world on an important, top secret mission that only myself and the Commander knew about. She should be back by now." He stood up, completely ignoring everything that went on between Jewel and Mei, and opened a window. Without looking outside, he spoke.
"Ryoko, you can come in now." he said. On the other side of the room, the other window opened, and a woman stepped through. A band of red material covering her eyes, and holding up the jet black, short hair. She walked with purpose around the desk in the centre of the room, towards Tahoshi. It appeared that the blindfold made no difference whatsoever to her eyesight.
"Welcome back. I trust your mission went well?" He asked, and received a nod in return. Her twin Katar zanpakuti sat on her waist, caught up in wrap sheathes.

jewel stood up and rushed over to mei. "mei where are your clothes?" jewel said hushedly. and it was only then that mei realized how nude she really was. she hurriedly tried to cover herself. jewel pulled off her captains coat and laid it roughly over mei's shoulders. mei smiled sheepishly hurried out of the room. jewel sighed then giggled softly. "please forgive my subordinate she's just a little bit forgetful." she hurried back over to her seat to pay attention to what tahoshi had put in front of them.
-------------------------------------------
mei hurried back to her room. covered in her captains coat. the sweet smell of jewel-taicho surrounding her, almost embrassing her. or at least thats what she hoped. once back in her room she slide the door closed and pulled the captains robe tighter around her, like a child in a great blanket. she laid down on her bed wrapped tightly in jewel-taicho's scent and remembered.
-------------------------------------------
it had been years ago. a prison riot. all that she had needed to escape from the dark hell that her former captain, the captain of squad eleven, had put her in. she slipped out through a half finished tunnel, she had clawed the rest of the way out herself, the sharp rocks tearing both her clothes and her flesh, but at last she pulled herself into the fresh night air. she had never been outside before and the fresh air felt like nothing short of a rush. but by the time she had pulled herself into the fresh clean air the guards had already squashed the riot and discovered the hole of a tunnel stretching toward the outside world. she dived into the icy cold mote the circled the prison. she had never even tired to swim before and the icy cold water made it near impossible to learn with any great skill. but she pulled herself to the shore, her lungs half full of water and her body shaking from the cold. dispite this she ran into the darkened city, her legs shaking and the rags of her clothes tearing worse and worse. it wasn't long before she fell to the pure weight of world around her. she pulled herself into a dark couner and waited for the guards. she had her freedom, at least for a few moments. then a miracle happened. the newly instated captain of the fourth squad had just returned from a rutine mission in the mortal realm with the fruits of her labor, several decent sized bars of chocolate. it here that mei first saw jewel-taicho. on her way home jewel noticed the barely covered shaking child in the corner. she smiled at the child and pulled a bar of chocolate from her robe. she aproched the child and offered her a corner of the sweet bar. mei took it and hid again in that dark dank corner. they went through the whole bar in this fashion. jewel would break off a piece and beckon the mei to take it. each time mei lingered a little longer. then came the guards. rather than returning to the corner mei clung to the robes of the young captain. the guards demanded the child and jewel refused. a stand off, the young captain glared down the guards. though she was newly instated, she was still a captain and what she said went. she took the young child all the way to the captain of the eleventh squad. the guards at her side, the child hidding in her robes, she pounded on the captains door until he woke and answered. half asleep the captain was no match for jewel's anger. with no choice he was forced to retreat, allowing jewel to keep the child. and thus began mei's new life. jewel became mother, sister, and even lover, though only in mei's eyes. mei totally comitted herself to jewel, calling her jewel-taicho with a sort of love not often seen.
-----------------------------------------
jewel shifted in her seat listening carefully to tahoshi and the others. she had been thinking carefully about mei, about how she had rescued her from that horrid prison.
----------------------------------------
mean while mei pulled her clothes on and prepared to rejoin her captain to learn what was going on and how she could help.

"Indeed. I found the target, and got away without being noticed." Ryoko said, leaning against the wall. Not many people knew the secrets of her sight, as she always seemed to be able to see you, even though her blindfold covered her eyes completely. She'd never taken it off, so no one had been able to check if it was see-through on one side.
"Excellent. You're just in time to be part of the defeat of Kyuuketsuki." Tahoshi said, standing from the desk.
"Everyone, meet me at the covert ops HQ, I have a large scale model of Seireitei available. We can use it to decide on positioning, and plan this thing properly." He said, moving towards the window, with Ryoko on his tail.
